I always wonder... will Birdo and Shy Guy ever be as popular as most Mario characters? It's truly sad to me because these two are possibly my most favorite unpopular video game characters.
These two are often overlooked/ judged and they deserve just as much love as the others. 
The funny thing is, they originally came from the same game. Birdo is such a cute dino girl that I find adorable along side Yoshi, and Shy Guy is just a small lovable shorty that with or without his mask I still find him cute because of his shy/ bashful nature.
One more thing, don't argue about Birdo's gender to me, because like always I will hide your comment if you do that. ^w^ Anyways.... enjoy!

I love Birdo and it's sad that she's oh so hated, like Ember from Spyro, another lovely pink reptile lady XD, I blame mostly the darn Gender crap! I do believe Birdo is female based on some of the information I received about her, and the arguments about her actually being a dude has got so annoying, I mean, who cares?! She's a girl in America, muff said 
I unfortunately don't love shy guy, not because I think he stinks, but because I don't know anything about him other than his shyness and cute looks.
The first time I saw him, I mistook him for a kirby character because he sure looks like he could be O.O
