These two are often overlooked/ judged and they deserve just as much love as the others. 
The funny thing is, they originally came from the same game. Birdo is such a cute dino girl that I find adorable along side Yoshi, and Shy Guy is just a small lovable shorty that with or without his mask I still feel find him cute because of his shy/ bashful nature.
One more thing, don't argue about Birdo's gender to me, because like always I will hide your comment if you do that. ^w^ Anyways.... enjoy!

The shy guy is kinda popular ... but that's a shame birdo does not appear more often !!
This is excellent, sis, it looks really different and I like that! Somewhat reminiscent of the game in that sense XD This time I hafta mention the background FIRST:
I think you did a marvelous job at recreating the pixelated background to look a lot more real while still staying terribly true to its original appearance (I don't mean real in the sense of 'realistic' so much as I mean giving it dimension - I can imagine it existing in the in-game world as graphic currently are, which is pretty cool). The texture over the hill-platform-thingy makes it so much more interesting, and just EVERYTHING about that vine is good! THAT IS ONE FINE VINE, MA'AM. I could go on for ages about that vine alone, but I won't XD *ahem* the stars are a nice addition that add a bit of balance and interest, and the grassy-grass they're on looks awesome... wait.. I just noticed the dirt under it that makes it all platform-y!! 8D OH-EM-GEE THAT IS COOL!! So much creative spark!!
Anyways, I got a lot to say on the feature characters, too - like HOLYSHITWOW the lineart is ACE! It's amazing how much detail on the both of them is defined just by the black lines, and it looks grouse! I'm staggered by the shading techniques here too, I like that you've got some shading much like your normal gimp brushing with the spotted-type flat colour shading, too - it's a surprisingly pleasant mix
I gotta say, B2Q, you never cease to leave me beauty-stricken to the point of being almost comatose
*Gasps* OH NOES.. there isn't a part you lov... wait.. that isn't really a threat. xD If you said don't like, that would be a different story. That was me really being reckless with textures though, so sorry that it does not appeal to you. ;w; I normally know what kind of textures I want to use for particular pics, but this one I had a brain fart. Mostly on the background and Birdo's bow. In fact, I am thinking about editing Birdo's bow texture so it looks more like the texture on Shy Guy's clothes to keep it more consistent. That is the texture I did that I am least pleased with. Perhaps that will change how you feel about it once I fix it. C: If not, then that is too damn bad. I can't even please YOU with all my art when it seems like I do 90%. XD
Anyways, it is indeed wonderful to get another trophy quality comment from you, and while it may not be as long and some of your others, I feel like there was nothing worth explaining more about since this pic is a simplistic cartoony one and over all is not really as impressive as some I did in the past.
Lol, well it's not really my concern anyway - just an opinion, because I'm OCD and I have trouble coping with inconsistency
Yeah, I am writing a little more briefly than before, and I apologise for that XD I dunno - detail can still be incorporated in cartoony styles, sis, I think this pic illustrates that well! I like cartoony stuff just as much as some more detailed and intense pictures, y'know

Otherwise, frankly, the colors, the landscape is REALLY nice !!!! : D It's so cute
